Growing Taller Naturally – No Pain, No Gain Part 5

I’ve suffered broken bones in my body four times in my life and, each time, it really HURT.  Twice it was an arm and twice it was a finger.  Never were these breaks done on purpose… each time was the result of some type of accident, whether it was falling out of a tree (oops) or improperly using a table-saw (big oops).

Recently, I’ve done some reading about individuals who have purposely elected to go through the time and torture of having their leg bones broken and then mechanically stretched so that, when the bones grow back together they’ll be lengthened.  All this time, trouble, pain and expense is incurred for the purpose of growing a few inches taller in height.  It seems like a lot to go through in order to increase one’s physical stature but, apparently, for some, it’s worth it.

Besides the expense of having one of these bone-lengthening procedures, which can run upwards of $40,000, there is also a great deal of pain associated with having the leg bones broken and then stretched.  And, from what I’ve read, pain-killing medications are not advisable during the procedure, as they prevent the bones from healing properly.  The whole process, including recuperation, can take six months or more, during which time the patient is not able to walk and is wheelchair bound.  Seems like a lot to go through to add a couple of inches, doesn’t it?  Well, like they say, no pain – no gain.

Another well-documented method for increasing one’s height is along the same lines as the medical bone-lengthening process discussed above but it’s not a medical procedure carried out in a hospital but can be accomplished at home, without the need for invasive medical intervention.

With this method, the bones are still broken, essentially, but the breaks are merely micro-fractures.  This is accomplished through engaging in some high-stress exercises, such as running on a hard surface (like asphalt or concrete) at high speeds for extended periods of time.  It’s called sprinting and it’s tough to do but, if done properly, will cause small fractures in the leg bones.

After the high-stress exercise, you then go to bed and strap heavy weights to your ankles, which serve to stretch out the legs as the body does its job in healing the micro-fractures you’ve created.  Apparently, after all that exercise you’ll have no trouble sleeping for the 10-14 hours recommended.  This is when your body does its self-healing thing.  Part of this method includes consuming lots of calcium in your daily diet, like drinking half a gallon of milk each day.  The body needs all that extra calcium for proper bone regeneration.

There are other methods for growing taller, but we’ve discussed two ways here that are both fairly well documented.  One thing can be said about both.  A person must have a great deal of desire and stamina for these programs to work.  And remember… no pain, no gain.
